The daughter of Shakuntala Bodas, the author of the books on Rama, found this website and relayed it to her mother just before her trip to the United States. Shakuntala then told Betty Treadwell about the site. We had not seen Betty for many years and had completely lost track of her. We found that she had been living only 50 miles from us. Betty is a devotee of Rama and will always hold a special place in our hearts. We visited Betty at her home and Shakuntala on Sunday 9/21/03 and had a wonderful time reminiscing about Rama. Shakuntala is a sweet and humble soul who has written several books on Rama and His teachings. She has written books in Hindi, Marathi, and English.
When we met again on 9/28/03, our 2-1/2 year old granddaughter Brianna went for a walk with Sharon (she calls her Grammy) and Shari her aunt. When she came back she said Pap, Mary was walking beside me and there was an angel in the sky above us! God was very near that day and it shows that Brianna, like many young children, is very pure at heart. That purity is why Rama-Jesus-Rama love little children so much. When Jesus said, Blessed are the pure at heart for they shall see God, He was not talking about after death. Rama told us to be innocent like a child! |

Swami Rama Selected Letters, Words & Grace Finished March 8, 2005, this book has many wonderful letters from devotees to Rama and from Him to them. I know of no one who ever wrote Him that did not get a letter in return. In this book one can see the dramatic spiritual effect he had on so many people throughout the world. Swami Rama : Selected Poems by Shakuntala, that were published in May 2007, are beautiful and sublime. They present a deep insight into Rama, the enlightened One whose whole life was dedicated to God and to uplifting mankind. He was full of joy and relays through His poems how we can be joyful too. |
